Goddamn, this is very well said. Something I have been thinking about since 2012. In this video you are very succinct with great counterpoints and examples with valid reasons. I wish it had more than 14,000. So many people in the electronic music scene and especially festival scene need to hear these valid and well thought out arguments. All your "opinions" have a factual component to it. Because an opinion = fact before or after the comma + what one perceives. But is it really an opinion when EDM is completely erasing the roots of the music (House and Techno), in many cases, while claiming to be said music? - No, and your are not being subjective, you are telling an actual truth, not a subjective opinion. The analogy people try to make with McDonalds, actual good food, and subjectivity are usually young (which makes them still relatively healthy without obvious health issues), out of shape, or people who never really had "good" healthy food. When one factors in these variables, they realize McDonalds is nasty shit for people in great physical shape, old, or with a list of health conditions which probably came as a result of eating shit like McDonalds. In either situation, the fact remains that McDonalds is trash. Anecdotal point, I realized this after I was going back and forth between good tasting McDonalds and real hamburgers - McDonalds which immediately exited my body after eating it or giving me a mild 5 minute stomach ache vs proper ground beef burgers that stayed and nourished my body properly. I stopped eating McDonalds 18 years ago, because my high metabolizing-muscular body of 6% fat rejected it. I didn't stop because it taste nasty, my body made me stop and I realized something is wrong with McDonald's burgers, they are actually shit. It will take people a while to realize EDM is actual shit. This may take time (age), going to proper clubs that play "underground", (experience) or hearing valid arguments like yours (wisdom). Great Job and love your music even more now. Any chance I get, I rock a Demuir track, since 2017, when I play out. P.S: I am still annoyed that Hip Hop is excluded from Electronic Dance Music (EDM). It was the first sounds made electronically and people danced well. So well that those Hip Hop dance moves to music made on samples, drum machines, and turntables became copied the world over. So well that it was included in the olympics, only to have the history overshadowed by a McDonalds-esque, EDM-ish type of dancer from Australia😂

Hey Demuir great video, I just purchased the M2 Mac Studio.. I’m having issues with my Console 1 MK2, in Logic, I tried re-downloading the license and re-installing the software it worked for 1 channel in Logic but when I added more channels it shut down it seems like the actual Console 1 controller is not communicating with Logic. Any advice or videos you can recommend?? I’m waiting for softube to get back to me.

Interesting perspective - thanks for sharing. I've always really valued spaces that producers can share, learn and draw inspiration from each other (like the early internet days where you had a sense of community on forums). As a DJ I'm also really interested in finding hidden gems. I'm finding that's getting harder and harder these days on platforms like Soundcloud and Bandcamp and I'm not optimistic about that getting any better (e.g. Bandcamp being sold to Epic/Songtradr). I'm therefore looking at building out a platform for producers to publish their music and for DJs to be able to easily browse that music and add it to their collection which can then be easily imported in to various DJ softwares. I have a beta version that's out now. If anyone is interested in finding out more, please leave me a message and I can add you to the discussion group and waiting list!

When I try to set the MIDI channels, I can set the OUTS individually, but can only set all Ins to 1 channel. I see you setting them individually. Has that changed with Maschine 2?

This one seems to be a really nice dual delay plug in. I got one question tho. Is it possible to have the delays go from the center to the sides? Opposite of what I see everywhere that the delays are going from the sides to the center.
